Regular Season Round 2: ZTE KK - Falco-Szova 93-98
Date: October 10, 2012
There was no surprise in Zalaegerszeg where bottom-ranked ZTE KK (0-2) was defeated by top-ranked Falco-Szova (2-0) 98-93. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ZTE KK won fourth quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Falco-Szova made 35-of-42 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 33 personal fouls committed by ZTE KK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Laszlo Simon (190-86, agency: TSS Management) notched 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American guard Jonathan Levy (193-82, college: CS San Bernar.) supported him with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Even 21 points and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) by Bosnian center Teo Simovic (205-84) did not help to save the game for ZTE KK. Adam Kovacs (200-93) added 21 points for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Falco-Szova keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Atomeromu and Szedeak. ZTE KK at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Falco-Szova's next round opponent will be Szedeak (#3) in Szeged, which may be the game of the day. ZTE KK will play on the road against the league's leader Atomeromu (#1) in Paks.
