The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated BC Nizhny Novgorod (1-1) in Samara on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Krasnie Krilya (1-1) 66-61. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Nizhny Novgorod won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Chester Simmons (196-82, college: Washington) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Aaron Miles (186-83, college: Kansas) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American-Hungarian point guard Obie Trotter (188-84, college: Alabama A&M, agency: Court Side) responded with 11 points and 4 assists and Serbian Dragan Labovic (208-87, agency: Alti Sport) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. BC Nizhny Novgorod's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Krasnie Krilya left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated BC Nizhny Novgorod. Krasnie Krilya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Nizhny Novgorod will play at home against Lokomotiv (#7) in Kuban and is hoping to win this game.
