Regular Season Round 4: SAM Massagno - BBC Nyon 102-89
Date: October 28, 2012
SAM Massagno's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat BBC Nyon (1-3) 102-89 on Sunday. BBC Nyon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Tommy Freeman (195-88, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who scored that evening 31 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) supported him with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Freeman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds by forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) did not help to save the game for BBC Nyon. Swingman Marvin Owens (196-86, college: Northwood) added 25 points and 4 steals for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SAM Massagno left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Neuchatel and BBC Nyon. SAM Massagno will meet Neuchatel (#8) on the road in the next round. BBC Nyon will play against Boncourt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
