Very expected game in Luzern where 9th ranked Highflyers (1-5) were defeated by third ranked Ovronnaz-Mart. (5-1) 86-69. The game without a history. Ovronnaz-Mart. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Highflyers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Barbados forward Jamila Studer-Griffith (182-82) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and international point guard Lia Volpe (163-86) accounted for 16 points and 5 assists. Five Ovronnaz-Mart. players scored in double figures. American center Chelsea Snyder (198-90, college: VCU) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized Kosovan guard Eltiona Miroci (175-96) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Highflyers in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ovronnaz-Mart.. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fribourg. Highflyers lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Ovronnaz-Mart. will play against Basel (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Highflyers will play against the league's leader Helios in Vetroz to get more than just one victory in their record.
