Regular Season Round 5: Monthey - Starwings 88-73

Date: November 3, 2012
Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Monthey (3-2) defeated at home bottom-ranked Starwings (0-5) 88-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Monthey. Starwings was better in third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monthey looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Bosnian forward Adnan Hodzic (203-88, college: Lipscomb, agency: Pro One Sports) stepped up and scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and American swingman Denver Holmes (193-89, college: Evansville) chipped in 18 points. American power forward Justin Dobbins (203-87, college: E.Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 24 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Brandon Jenkins (190-85, college: Louisville) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Monthey moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Starwings still closes the standings with five games lost. Monthey will face SAM Massagno (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Starwings will play against Geneve Lions and hope to get finally their first victory.
