Undefeated leader Helios delivered the sixth consecutive win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Highflyers (1-5) 108-47 in Luzern. The game without a history. Helios led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Highflyers' 34. Helios forced 21 Highflyers turnovers and outrebounded them 29-18 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Helios especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Highflyers' players. The best player for the winners was international forward Marielle Giroud (180-87, college: Franklin Pierce) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). International Sarah Kershaw (180-85) chipped in 22 points. Five Helios players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Chelsea Snyder (198-90, college: VCU) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and international guard Vanessa Dorestant (170-92) added 14 points respectively. Highflyers' coach Andre Bachmann gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Helios (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Highflyers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with five games lost. Helios are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Bellinzona (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Highflyers will play against Pully and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
