Unics Kazan's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after one consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Lokomotiv (2-3) 75-47 on Sunday. The game without a history. Unics Kazan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lokomotiv to just 7 points in second quarter. Unics Kazan made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Lokomotiv turnovers. The winners were led by Greek power forward Kostas Kaimakoglou (206-83) who scored that evening 15 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Chuck Eidson (203-80, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) supported him with 13 points. Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. Even 10 points by Lithuanian Simas Jasaitis (202-82) did not help to save the game for Lokomotiv. Australian center Aleks Maric (211-84, college: Nebraska) added 7 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics Kazan (1-1) left bottom position moving up to seventh place. Loser Lokomotiv dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Unics Kazan will meet league's second-placed Khimky in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lokomotiv will play against Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#10) and hope to secure a win.
