Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-19. But Volgograd won second period 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Lithuanian guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. Four Ruskon-Mordovia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Artem Komissarov (200-90) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds and Ukrainian guard Vitaly Boyko (183-82) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Ruskon-Mordovia moved-up to second place, which they share with Univ.Surgut. Loser Volgograd keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. Ruskon-Mordovia will face Dynamo Moscow (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Volgograd will play against the league's leader Ataman (#1) in Rostov.
