Cedevita and Zalgiris went through a double-overtime marathon to decide on the winner in EuroLeague Group C tonight. Cedevita eventually came out winners in Zagreb. Mickael Gelabale nailed 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to pace the hosts to the second win at the tournament. Zalgiris suffered their first defeat and slipped at 5-1 record. Zalgiris looked the dominant force in this one early in the game. The Kaunas team accumulated a 28:19 lead ten minutes into the game. But Cedevita turned things around in the next two periods. The hosts denied the deficit and pulled ahead for a 63:60 lead at the third break. Zalgiris erased the distance and Darden put the visitors ahead 82:80 with 46 seconds remaining. Marko Popovic sank three free throws to ensure an 85:82 lead for the visitors with 9 seconds remaining. But Bracey Wright drilled a three-pointer and sent the game into overtime. Jankunas gave Zalgiris a 96:93 lead with 31 seconds to go in the first extra period. Darden followed with a free throw as Zalgiris seemed on the way to their victory 97:93. However Bracey Wright nailed two free throws and then Ilievski dropped a three-point bomb following free throws from Kaukenas to put Cedevita within one 98:99. Marko Popovic hit just one free throw and Mickael Gelabale dunked for a 100:100 tie game at the end of the first overtime. Zalgiris jumped ahead once again early in the second extra period. Bracey Wright and Ilievski gave a decisive lead for Cedevita and the hosts then kept Zalgiris scoreless for more then three minutes to win the battle. Bracey Wright sank 20 points, while Predrag Suput fired 18 points for the hosts. Darjus Lavrinovic answered with 24 points for Zalgiris. Marko Popovic had 19 points in the loss.
