No shocking result in a game when third ranked Universitet-Yugra (5-2) defeated on the road 12th ranked Rjazan (3-4) 64-60 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Universitet-Yugra outrebounded Rjazan 41-29 including 22 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Anton Ageev (192-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) helped adding 6 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side center Maksim Polyakov (206-84, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 8 points and 10 rebounds and guard Aleksei Vzdykhalkin (190-85, agency: Interperformances) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Universitet-Yugra moved-up to second place, which they share with Ruskon-Mord. Loser Rjazan dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Severstal and Dynamo MO. Universitet-Yugra will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rjazan will play against Volgograd (#14) and hope to secure a win.
