Highflyers (#9) forced the game against Muraltese (#7) into an overtime, but lost by six points 68-74. The game took place in Luzern. But the guests were better at the end. Highflyers were ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 26-12 third quarter run of Muraltese. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-6. Muraltese forced 28 Highflyers turnovers. American guard Takia Starks (173-87, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Forward Schirin Juon (180-95) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Muraltese players scored in double figures. American center Chelsea Snyder (198-90, college: VCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 26 rebounds and naturalized Bosnian guard Belma Subasic (168-95) added 15 points in the effort for Highflyers. Highflyers' coach Danijel Brankovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Muraltese (3-5) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Pully. Highflyers lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Muraltese's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Riva Basket in Riva San Vitale and it may be quite challenging game. Highflyers will play on the road against Basel (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
