Regular Season Round 7: Monthey - SAV Vacallo 63-56

LNA round 7 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader SAV Vacallo (5-2) against fifth ranked Monthey (5-2) 63-56 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SAV Vacallo. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But SAV Vacallo won fourth quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian-Bosnian guard Feliks Kojadinovic (197-79) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. International Jonathan Dubas (202-91) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Monthey players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Ivan Kuburovic (203-81) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Larry O'Bannon (194-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points in the effort for SAV Vacallo. Monthey have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Geneve Lions and SAV Vacallo. SAV Vacallo will play next round against SAM Massagno trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Monthey will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Neuchatel at home.
