Regular Season Round 5: Spartak V MR - Rostov 77-48

Bottom-ranked BC Rostov is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to sixth ranked Spartak Vidnoye (3-2) 77-48. The game without a history. Spartak Vidnoye led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game, while BC Rostov only scored three points from the stripe. Spartak Vidnoye forced 22 BC Rostov turnovers. International Eugeniya Belyakova (182-86) stepped up and scored 18 points and 4 steals for the winners and international center Natalia Vieru (196-89) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Spartak Vidnoye's coach Pokey Chatman felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Elena Pavlova (185-89) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and center Elena Gogiya (191-87, agency: LBM Management) scored 13 points. Spartak Vidnoye moved-up to fifth place. BC Rostov lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted BC Rostov still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Energy Ivanovo. Spartak Vidnoye will play against Dynamo-GUVD (#6) in Novosibirsk in the next round. BC Rostov will play on the road against Energy Ivanovo (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
