Regular Season Round 11: Bacsbasket - ZTE NKK 61-62

The most exciting game of round 11 in the A Division took place in Baja. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Bacsbasket (6-4) to fifth ranked ZTE NKK (7-4) 62-61 on Thursday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-14. But Bacsbasket won second period 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ZTE NKK made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Point guard Virag Szalay (172-84, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) saved the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Alex Gensler (180-90, college: Duquesne, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 16 points for the winners. ZTE NKK's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Latvian center Aija Brumermane (191-86, agency: Regeneracom Sports) answered with 8 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Szilvia Torok (176-81) added 12 points in the effort for Bacsbasket. ZTE NKK moved-up to third place, which they share with PEAC-PECS. Bacsbasket at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. ZTE NKK is looking forward to face DKSK (#6) in Miskolc in the next round. Bacsbasket will play on the road against the league's leader MKB Euroleasing in Sopron and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
