Undefeated leader Helios delivered the ninth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Hope-GBA (5-4) 93-48 in Bernex. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hope-GBA. The game without a history. Helios led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hope-GBA to just 5 points in third quarter. Helios dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hope-GBA's 36 and made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Helios forced 22 Hope-GBA turnovers and outrebounded them 44-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by Hope-GBA's players. It was a good game for international forward Marielle Giroud (180-87, college: Franklin Pierce) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. International forward Caroline Turin (173-87) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Five Helios players scored in double figures. International forward Jalinka Michaux (173-87) answered with 10 points and Sarah Cavin (178-92) added 6 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hope-GBA. Hope-GBA's coach Billy Karageorgakis gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Helios (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Hope-GBA at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Helios will play against Pully (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hope-GBA will play against Basel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
