Regular Season Round 9: Kaposvari - ZTE KK 95-78

Very expected game when 7th ranked ZTE KK (4-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Kaposvari (7-2) 95-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kaposvari. ZTE KK managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kaposvari dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE KK's 42. American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Court Side) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and Serbian power forward Marko Spica (205-86, college: Cent.Michigan) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Kaposvari players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Bosnian center Teo Simovic (205-84) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican point guard Donald Copeland (177-84, college: Seton Hall) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Kaposvari keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Albacomp and Atomeromu. Loser ZTE KK dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with PVSK Pannon and Jaszberenyi. Kaposvari will meet Soproni (#5) on the road in the next round. ZTE KK will play against Jaszberenyi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
