The game had a very big importance for second-ranked UMMC Ekaterinburg as it allowed them to take a leadership position. UMMC Ekaterinburg smashed 3rd ranked Dynamo Moscow at home 89-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dynamo Moscow. The game was mostly controlled by UMMC Ekaterinburg. Dynamo Moscow was better in fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UMMC Ekaterinburg players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Dynamo Moscow's players. American center Candace Parker (193-86, college: Tennessee) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Italian-American Diana Taurasi (183-82, college: Connecticut) supported her with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Even 23 points by American power forward Crystal Langhorne (188-86, college: Maryland) did not help to save the game for Dynamo Moscow. International center Tatiana Vidmer (191-86) added 4 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UMMC Ekaterinburg (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Dynamo Moscow at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Spartak V MR. Dynamo Moscow will play next round against strong Nadezhda Orenburg trying to get back on the winning streak. UMMC Ekaterinburg will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Dynamo Kursk on the road.
