There was a small surprise when tenth ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (4-4) smashed at home 7th ranked Planeta-Univ. (4-4) 90-70 on Saturday. The game without a history. TEMP-SUMZ Revda led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. TEMP-SUMZ Revda outrebounded Planeta-Univ. 44-33 including a 36-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Aleksey Komarov (206-81) who scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Sergei Khlopov (198-78) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward James Ellisor (195-90, college: Bemidji St.) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward David Loubeau (203-89, college: Texas A&M) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Planeta-Univ. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. TEMP-SUMZ Revda moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Avtodor and Planeta-Univ. TEMP-SUMZ Revda will meet bottom-ranked Spartak Vidnoye (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Planeta-Univ. will play against Sojuz Zaretchny (#13) and hope to secure a win.
