Regular Season Round 10: Kormend - Szedeak 104-79
Date: December 1, 2012
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Kormend and 10th ranked Szedeak had identical 3-6 record. This time Kormend used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Szeged 104-79 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. Szedeak was better in fourth quarter 29-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kormend looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a very good performance for Croatian forward Zvonko Buljan (206-87, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV, agency: R.H.Consultancy) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Five Kormend players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Milan Csorvasi (209-88, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and Serbian power forward Nebojsa Dukic (206-85) added 22 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Szedeak. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kormend (4-6) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with PVSK Pannon and Jaszberenyi. Szedeak lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Kormend will face league's leader Atomeromu in Paks in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Szedeak will play on the road against PVSK Pannon (#8) in Pecs and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
