Regular Season Round 10: Bellinzona - Ovronnaz-Mart. 45-48

Date: December 1, 2012
Bottom-ranked Bellinzona is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to third ranked Ovronnaz-Mart. (8-2) 48-45 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 31-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Ovronnaz-Mart. forced 23 Bellinzona turnovers. Hungarian forward Ildiko Szakacs (187-81) notched 15 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and international center Katia Clement (183-85) supported her with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 16 rebounds by Canadian forward Julie Seabrook (190-90, college: Colorado) did not help to save the game for Bellinzona. Forward Katarina Stupar (181-95) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Ovronnaz-Mart. moved-up to second place, which they share with Riva Basket. Newly promoted Bellinzona still closes the standings with ten games lost. Ovronnaz-Mart. will meet at home league's leader Helios in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bellinzona will play against Highflyers (#9) in Luzern and hopes to get finally their first victory.
