Regular Season Round 11: Atomeromu - Kormend 93-63

A Division top team - Atomeromu (9-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Kormend (4-7) in Paks 93-63. It looked good early as Kormend took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Atomeromu had a 26-11 second period charge getting the lead and Kormend was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-93. Atomeromu dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kormend's 26 and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Atomeromu forced 23 Kormend turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Steven Idlet (210-89, college: Tulsa) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Lorenzo Williams (189-84, college: Rice, agency: Court Side) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Croatian forward Zvonko Buljan (206-87, college: TCU) produced 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atomeromu have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Despite that victory Atomeromu went down to third position due to points difference. Kormend at the other side dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Atomeromu's next round opponent will be Jaszberenyi (#8) on the road which should be theoretically another easy game. Kormend will play against the league's second-placed Kaposvari.
