Regular Season Round 11: ZTE KK - Soproni 73-75

A very close game took place in Zalaegerszeg between Soproni and ZTE KK. Fifth ranked Soproni (7-4) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked ZTE KK (5-6). Soproni managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Gergely Toth (208-89, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who led the winners and scored 25 points. American guard Dontay Thomas (186-84, college: La Salle) accounted for 20 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American-Puerto Rican point guard Donald Copeland (177-84, college: Seton Hall) came up with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Bosnian center Teo Simovic (205-84) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for ZTE KK in the defeat. Four ZTE KK players scored in double figures. Soproni moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Falco-Szova. Loser ZTE KK keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with PVSK Pannon. Soproni will meet at home Falco-Szova (#4) in the next round. ZTE KK will play against the league's leader Albacomp in Szekesfehervar and hope to secure a win.
