There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Dynamo-GUVD (2-5) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Energy Ivanovo (2-5) 58-54 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Energy Ivanovo made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Dynamo-GUVD turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Olga Ovcharenko (186-79) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. American center Janell Burse (197-79, college: Tulane) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Yvonne Turner (174-87, college: Nebraska, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with 15 points and 9 steals and international center Natalia Myasoedova (196-87) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Energy Ivanovo moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dynamo-GUVD and Chevakata. Dynamo-GUVD lost their third game in a row. Energy Ivanovo will meet Vologda-Chevakata (#8) on the road in the next round. Dynamo-GUVD will play against Spartak Noginsk and hope to secure a win.
