Regular Season Round 11: Sojuz Zaretchny - Spartak V. 73-86

Spartak Vidnoye's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after nine consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Zaretchny, where they defeated Sojuz Zaretchny (2-8) 86-73. Sojuz Zaretchny was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 30-12 charge of Spartak Vidnoye, which allowed them to win the game. Sojuz Zaretchny was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Denis Zakharov (193-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 7 assists. Guard Aleksandr Karpukhin (191-90) helped adding 26 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Aleksander Pushkin (203-87) responded with 23 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and forward Vyacheslav Sleta (205-89) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sojuz Zaretchny players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Spartak Vidnoye maintains fifteenth place with 1-9 record. It was Sojuz Zaretchny's fifth loss in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Volgograd. Spartak Vidnoye will play against league's second-placed Universitet-Yugra in Surgut in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sojuz Zaretchny will play on the road against TEMP-SUMZ Revda (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
