It looked good early as BBC Nyon took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Monthey had a 20-12 second period charge getting the lead and BBC Nyon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-69. Strangely BBC Nyon outrebounded Monthey 41-24 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bosnian forward Bozo Djurasovic (200-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Denver Holmes (193-89, college: Evansville) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import swingman Marvin Owens (196-86, college: Northwood) added 18 points in the effort for BBC Nyon. Despite that victory Monthey went down to fourth position due to points difference. BBC Nyon lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. Monthey's next round opponent will be Lugano Tigers (#5) on the road. BBC Nyon will play against Starwings (#8) in Basel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
