An interesting game for Dynamo Kursk (6-2) which hosted in Kursk one of their biggest challengers Spartak Vidnoye (5-3). Second ranked Dynamo Kursk had an easy win 76-55. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Spartak Vidnoye. The game was mostly controlled by Dynamo Kursk. Spartak Vidnoye managed to win third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Spartak Vidnoye 53-42 including a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dynamo Kursk looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Spartak Vidnoye's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dynamo Kursk made 8 blocks. The former international center Ekaterina Lisina (198-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 7 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Dynamo Kursk players scored in double figures. American Seimone Augustus (183-84, college: LSU) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Marina Kuzina (195-85) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Spartak Vidnoye. Spartak Vidnoye's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Dynamo Kursk maintains second position with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader UMMC, which they share with Dynamo M. Spartak Vidnoye at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Nadezhda O.. Dynamo Kursk is looking forward to face Energy Ivanovo (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartak Vidnoye will play against the league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg (#1) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
