Regular Season Round 10: CSKA - Krasnie Krilya 75-72

Sixth-ranked Krasnie Krilya (4-3) was very close to win a game against first ranked CSKA Moscow (8-1) on Sunday. CSKA Moscow managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 35-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. CSKA Moscow made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. CSKA Moscow had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Krasnie Krilya helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Viktor Khryapa (203-82) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Serbian center Nenad Krstic (212-83) contributed with 20 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners. Four CSKA Moscow players scored in double figures. American guard Chester Simmons (196-82, college: Washington) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Aaron Miles (186-83, college: Kansas) added 11 points and 8 assists in the effort for Krasnie Krilya. Krasnie Krilya's coach Sergey Bazarevich rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-1 record. Krasnie Krilya at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. CSKA Moscow are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Krasnie Krilya will have a break next round.
