Superlaegue top team - Universitet-Yugra (14-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Dynamo Moscow (8-8) 62-53. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Dynamo Moscow. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Universitet-Yugra dominated on the defensive end, holding Dynamo Moscow to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Universitet-Yugra forced 20 Dynamo Moscow turnovers. Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) nailed 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and guard Ilia Aleksandrov (194-81) accounted for 16 points. Universitet-Yugra's coach Sergei Olhov allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Gleb Plotnikov (190-91, agency: Interperformances) came up with 12 points and forward Aleksei Karpeko (194-89) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Dynamo Moscow in the defeat. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Universitet-Yugra. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Newly promoted Dynamo Moscow dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with TEMP-SUMZ. Universitet-Yugra will play against AltajBasket (#7) in Barnau in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dynamo Moscow will play on the road against Volgograd and hopes to get back on the winning track.
