Very expected game when 10th ranked BC Rostov (1-11) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Vologda-Chevakata (6-6) 71-55. Vologda-Chevakata outrebounded BC Rostov 43-32 including 33 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Glory Johnson (190-90, college: Tennessee) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import guard Jasmine Thomas (175-89, college: Duke) supported her with 6 points and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds by guard Olga Vorobyeva (180-87, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for BC Rostov. Forward Tatiana Grigoryeva (179-90) added 12 points and 4 steals. BC Rostov's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Vologda-Chevakata maintains sixth position with 6-6 record. BC Rostov lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted BC Rostov stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Vologda-Chevakata will play against Dynamo-GUVD (#7) in Novosibirsk in the next round. BC Rostov will play at home against Dynamo Kursk to get more than just one victory in their record.
