Regular Season Round 19: Falco-Szova - Kaposvari 93-78

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kaposvari (13-6) against eighth ranked Falco-Szova (9-10) on Saturday night. Visiting Kaposvari was defeated by Falco-Szova in Szombathely 93-78. The game was mostly controlled by Falco-Szova. Kaposvari was better in fourth quarter 31-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Falco-Szova especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Kaposvari's players. It was a great evening for Slovenian forward Zeljko Zagorac (204-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Benedek Varadi (194-95) helped adding 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Falco-Szova players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Kittitian swingman Kyle Swanston (201-86, college: JMU, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian power forward Marko Spica (205-86, college: Cent.Michigan) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Falco-Szova moved-up to sixth place, which they share with PVSK Pannon. Kaposvari at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Falco-Szova will play against Marso NYKK (#11) in Nyiregyhazi in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kaposvari will play on the road against ZTE KK (#8) in Zalaegerszeg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
