An interesting game for Riva Basket (13-4) which played road game in Martigny against 3rd placed Ovronnaz-Mart. (11-6). Second ranked Riva Basket had an easy win 92-47. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ovronnaz-Mart.. The game without a history. Riva Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ovronnaz-Mart. to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Riva Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Ovronnaz-Mart.'s 32 and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Riva Basket forced 24 Ovronnaz-Mart. turnovers and outrebounded them 28-17 including a 22-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Cameo Hicks (182-84, college: Washington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Italian forward Lavinia Santucci (186-85) contributed with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Riva Basket players scored in double figures. The former international center Katia Clement (183-85) answered with 9 points and Barbados swingman Jamila Studer-Griffith (183-82, college: Md-E Shore) added 9 points in the effort for Ovronnaz-Mart.Ovronnaz-Mart.'s coach Laurent Plassard gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Riva Basket maintains second place with 13-4 record having four points less than leader Helios. Ovronnaz-Mart. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost.
