Neuchatel (9-8) outlasted Monthey (10-7) in overtime by two points 73-71 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime then Monthey managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Neuchatel who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-12. They also forced 22 Monthey turnovers. Monthey was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Thomas Coleman (205-88, college: N.Carolina A&T) stepped up and scored 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Quinton Day (185-84, college: UMKC, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 18 points. Bosnian forward Adnan Hodzic (203-88, college: Lipscomb, agency: Pro One Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Canadian guard Hernst Laroche (185, college: N.Mexico St.) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Neuchatel have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lugano Tigers. Monthey lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with seven games lost. Neuchatel will face league's second-placed Geneve Lions on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
