An interesting game for Ural Ekaterinburg (14-3) which hosted in Ekaterinburg one of their biggest challengers Novosybirsk (13-5). Second ranked Ural Ekaterinburg had an easy win 83-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Novosybirsk. The game was mostly controlled by Ural Ekaterinburg. Novosybirsk managed to win third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Novosybirsk 45-30 including 27 on the offensive glass. Ural Ekaterinburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Novosybirsk helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Chris Monroe (191-81, college: G.Washington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Vitaly Ionov (201-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Ural Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. Ural Ekaterinburg's coach Oleg Okulov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
