Regular Season Round 20: FS Debrecen - Albacomp 66-108

A Division top team - Albacomp (15-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked FS Debrecen (2-18) 108-66. It looked good early as FS Debrecen took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Albacomp had a 31-11 second period charge getting the lead and FS Debrecen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-108. Albacomp forced 19 FS Debrecen turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by international forward Zsolt Szabo (202-86, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Brandon Wood (187-89, college: Michigan St., agency: N.E.T.) supported him with 22 points. Five Albacomp players scored in double figures. Albacomp's coach Branislav Dzunic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Kevin Smith (195-89, college: Richmond) did not help to save the game for FS Debrecen. Forward David Benocs (202-92) added 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Albacomp maintains first position with 15-5 record, which they share with Atomeromu. FS Debrecen at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 18 games lost. Albacomp will play against Marso NYKK (#11) in Nyiregyhazi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. FS Debrecen will play on the road against Falco-Szova in Szombathely and hopes to get back on the winning track.
