The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked CSKA Moscow (12-2) on the court of eighth ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by BC Nizhny Novgorod 70-68. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of CSKA Moscow. It was a good game for American swingman Dijon Thompson (201-83, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Semen Antonov (202-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Serbian center Nenad Krstic (212-83) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for CSKA Moscow. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BC Nizhny Novgorod maintains eighth position with 5-9 record. Defending champion CSKA Moscow still keeps top place with two games lost. BC Nizhny Novgorod are looking forward to face league's second-placed Khimky in Khimki in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. CSKA Moscow will play at home against Lokomotiv in Kuban and is hoping to win this game.
