Regular Season Round 22: Lugano Tigers - Neuchatel 105-86

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Lugano Tigers (13-9) crushed at home 5th ranked Neuchatel (11-11) 105-86. Neuchatel was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 56-32 second half run of Lugano Tigers. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Neuchatel's 42. Lugano Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Neuchatel was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Korvotney Barber (201-87, college: Auburn, agency: Pro One Sports) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Dusan Mladjan (198-86, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 29 points during the contest. Lugano Tigers' coach Randoald Dessarzin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard Ray Reese (196-87, college: Tulsa) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Thomas Coleman (205-88, college: N.Carolina A&T) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third position with 13-9 record having five points less than leader Fribourg. Newly promoted Neuchatel keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Lugano Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Neuchatel will play on the road against Monthey (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
