An interesting game for CSKA Moscow (13-2) which hosted in Moscow 4th placed Lokomotiv (7-6). First ranked CSKA Moscow had an easy win 83-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lokomotiv. CSKA Moscow made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lokomotiv 43-27 including 34 on the defensive glass. CSKA Moscow shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Lokomotiv was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 assists. The former international forward Viktor Khryapa (203-82) helped adding 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four CSKA Moscow players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Greek point guard Nick Calathes (198-89, college: Florida) responded with 13 points and Lithuanian point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, agency: Interperformances) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-2 record. Lokomotiv at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. CSKA Moscow will play against Triumph Lyubertsy (#8) in Lubertsy in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lokomotiv will have a break next round.
