Tenth-ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk (3-14) made lots of trouble for third ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (10-8) on Wednesday. Spartak St.Petersburg managed to secure only three-point victory 70-67. However their fans expected much easier game. American-Bosnian guard Zack Wright (195-85, college: Central Mo.) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Petr Gubanov (207-87) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Spartak St.Petersburg maintains third position with 10-8 record having six points less than leader CSKA. Loser Enisey Krasnoyarsk stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Spartak St.Petersburg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Enisey Krasnoyarsk will play against Krasnie Krilya (#8) in Samara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
