Very predictable result when Atomeromu (2-0) won against on the road Kormend (0-2) 78-68 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 43-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Atomeromu made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Atomeromu outrebounded Kormend 41-26 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Janos Eilingsfeld (198-91, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). American guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college: Cincinnati) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Montenegrin center Marko Rakocevic (205-83) replied with 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American guard Jeremy Fears (196-85, college: Bradley) added 16 points in the effort for Kormend. Kormend's coach Tamas Hencsey rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Atomeromu will face Kaposvari at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kormend will play against PVSK Pannon in Pecs.
