There was a minor upset when 7th ranked ZTE KK (4-4) lost on the road to ninth ranked Kormend (3-5) 82-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 24-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Kormend made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game, while ZTE KK only scored eleven points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kormend made 7 blocks. The winners were led by Montenegrin forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 24 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Devon Moore (193, college: JMU) supported him with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Kormend's coach Tamas Hencsey used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Justin Safford (204-87, college: Missouri, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) did not help to save the game for ZTE KK. International power forward Jozsef Lekli (206-87, agency: TSS Management) added 17 points for the guests. Five ZTE KK players scored in double figures. Kormend moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Szedeak. ZTE KK lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with four games lost. Kormend will meet at home higher ranked Kaposvari (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ZTE KK will play against Alba (#4) and hope to secure a win.
