Regular Season Round 12: Stary Sobol NT - Neftekhimik T. 71-72

Important game to mention about took place in Nizhny Tagil. Leader Neftekhimik T. (8-0) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Stary Sobol NT (5-3) 72-71 on Friday evening. It looked good early as Stary Sobol NT took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Neftekhimik T. had a 27-15 second period charge getting the lead and Stary Sobol NT was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-72. Forward Konstantin Novikov (202-87) saved the victory by scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Center Mikhail Kautin (214-86) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Neftekhimik T.'s coach Aleksei Lobanov allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Aleksey Makarov (191-92) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Aleksandr Golubev (194-78) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Stary Sobol NT. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Neftekhimik T. maintains first place in League with 8-0 record. Stary Sobol NT at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
