Regular Season Round 9: Sopron KC - Jaszberenyi 90-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Jaszberenyi's (5-5) road loss to fifth ranked Sopron KC (6-3) 70-90. The game was mostly controlled by Sopron KC. Jaszberenyi was better in fourth quarter 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Jonathon Thompson (193-90, college: Rider) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 4 assists. Montenegrin power forward Filip Barovic (208-90) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Sopron KC's coach Balazs Sabali used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian swingman Milos Markovic (201-84, agency: BeoExcell) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Serbian power forward Nebojsa Dukic (206-85) added 12 points in the effort for Jaszberenyi. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sopron KC moved-up to third place, which they share with Kaposvari and Alba. Jaszberenyi at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Sopron KC's next round opponent will be league's leader Atomeromu in Paks and it will be for sure the game of the week.
