Regular Season Round 8: Novosybirsk - Samara-SGEU 65-60

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Novosybirsk (5-2) beat at home 13th ranked Samara-SGEU (1-6) 65-60 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Samara-SGEU was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 24-12 charge of Novosybirsk, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The winners were led by guard Sergey Tokarev (189-85) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Anton Sayapin (204-86) supported him with 19 points. Even 13 points by power forward Andrey Kirdyachkin (207-90) did not help to save the game for Samara-SGEU. Armenian forward Kirill Zakharchuk (199-95) added 8 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Novosybirsk maintains fourth position with 5-2 record. Samara-SGEU lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with six games lost. Novosybirsk will meet Spartak-Prim. (#5) in the next round. Samara-SGEU will play against Parma (#8) and hope to win that game.
