Regular Season Round 11: Szedeak - Sopron KC 65-86
Date: December 6, 2013
Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Sopron KC (7-4) rolled over 8th ranked Szedeak (4-7) in Szeged 86-65 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Sopron KC. Szedeak was better in second period 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Dontay Thomas (186-84, college: La Salle) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. Guard Andras Rujak (187-88, agency: TSS Management) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Sopron KC's coach Balazs Sabali felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jerrell Williams (203-88, college: La Salle) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Jonathan Levy (193-82, college: CS San Bernar.) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Szedeak. Sopron KC moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kaposvari. Szedeak at the other side dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Sopron KC will face league's second-placed Alba in Szekesfehervar in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Szedeak will play at home against PVSK Pannon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
