Regular Season Round 16: Sojuz Zaretchny - Kamit-Univ. 106-41

Bottom-ranked Kamit-Univ. (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 106-41 loss to fourth ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (7-4) in Zaretchny on Friday evening. The game without a history. Sojuz Zaretchny led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sojuz Zaretchny forced 29 Kamit-Univ. turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 25 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Sojuz Zaretchny looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Kamit-Univ.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Stanislav Sarafankin (195-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and guard Oleg Korchev (193-92) who added 12 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Sojuz Zaretchny players scored in double figures. Sojuz Zaretchny's coach Aleksandr Drankov felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Aleksandr Kurmanov (199-96) responded with 15 points and Dmitriy Pryakhin (198-95) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Sojuz Zaretchny moved-up to third place in League. Loser Kamit-Univ. still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Sojuz Zaretchny will again meet at home Kamit-Univ. (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Kamit-Univ. will have a break next round.
