Regular Season Round 17: Neftekhimik T. - Sogdiana-Skif 95-65

Higher League top team - Neftekhimik T. (11-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Sogdiana-Skif (6-6) in Tobolsk 95-65. The game without a history. Neftekhimik T. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Neftekhimik T. forced 22 Sogdiana-Skif turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 21 long-distance shots on high 55.3 percentage. Neftekhimik T. players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Sogdiana-Skif's players. The best player for the winners was center Mikhail Kautin (214-86) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Aleksey Pertsev (194-82) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Neftekhimik T.'s coach Aleksei Lobanov felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized Kazakhstan forward Nail Gafarov (198-88) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and center Yuriy Kochnev (209-89) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Neftekhimik T. maintains first place in League with 11-1 record. Sogdiana-Skif at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Neftekhimik T.'s next round opponent will be Stroitiel Engels (#6) which should be theoretically another easy game.
