Regular Season Round 11: Ryazan - Spartak-Prim. 83-70
Date: December 16, 2013
Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Ryazan (8-2) won against at home 6th ranked Spartak-Prim. (5-5) 83-70 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Ryazan. Spartak-Prim. managed to win third quarter 30-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for guard Dramir Zibirov (187-86) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Naturalized Belarusian forward Valentin Iurchik (207-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Pavel Gromyko (197-89) came up with 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Nikita Morgounov (210-75, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Spartak-Prim. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ryazan have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Novosybirsk. Loser Spartak-Prim. keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Ryazan will meet at home bottom-ranked Irkut Irkutsk (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Spartak-Prim. will play against Ruskon-Mordovia (#8) in Saransk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
