Regular Season Round 13: PVSK Pannon - Sopron KC 67-62

We should mention about the upset which took place in Pecs, where 4th placed Sopron KC (8-4) lost to tenth ranked PVSK Pannon (3-9) in a road game 62-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sopron KC. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 17-7. But Sopron KC won second period 25-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when PVSK Pannon won last quarter 14-11. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sopron KC to just 7 points in first quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian swingman Veljko Budimir (199-85) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Adam Csabay (189-86) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American guard Dontay Thomas (186-84, college: La Salle) answered with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Montenegrin power forward Filip Barovic (208-90) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sopron KC. Despite that victory PVSK Pannon went down to eleventh position due to points difference. Sopron KC at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Alba. PVSK Pannon will play against higher ranked Kormend (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sopron KC will play against the league's second-placed KTE-Duna Aszfalt having rather not much hope for a victory.
