Starwings (6-8) survived in overtime against Neuchatel (10-4) by seven points 82-75 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Neuchatel. Neuchatel was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 15-11 charge of Starwings, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-7. Starwings forced 21 Neuchatel turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals. American forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in 22 points. Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Senegalese forward Jules Aw (202-86) added 12 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Starwings maintains sixth position with 6-8 record. Loser Neuchatel keeps the second place with four games lost. Starwings will face higher ranked Geneve Lions (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Neuchatel will play against EI Massagno and hope to win that game.
