Regular Season Round 11: Spartak V MR - Dyn.-GUVD 81-72

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Dyn.-GUVD (2-8) was defeated on the road by third ranked Spartak Vidnoye (7-3) 81-72. It looked good early as Dyn.-GUVD took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Spartak Vidnoye had a 26-8 second period charge getting the lead and Dyn.-GUVD was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-81. Spartak Vidnoye dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Dyn.-GUVD's 26. They outrebounded Dyn.-GUVD 41-21 including a 31-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. International Eugeniya Belyakova (182-86, agency: IPSA) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Serbian forward Sonja Petrovic (189-89) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Alexandra Kostina (191-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 27 points and 5 rebounds and American center Devereaux Peters (187-89, college: Notre Dame) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dyn.-GUVD. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spartak Vidnoye maintains third place with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader UMMC, which they share with Nadezhda O. Dyn.-GUVD lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Spartak Vidnoye will play against Energy Ivanovo (#6) on the road in the next round. Dyn.-GUVD will play against the league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
